Ada Liv (b. 2001) is an artist based in Los Angeles who utilizes organic materials to create abstract and unidentifiable forms. Through textile, installation, and painting, her work makes unspoken emotions physical. It reflects an appreciation for the matter, patterns, and anatomies found in nature and biology, often looking at these themes with a macro/micro lens. The processes behind her art are always intense manipulations of materials done by human hands like paper making, weaving, crochet, knitting, sculpting, and sanding. Through the acts of destroying and reconstructing materials, she transforms them, physically and symbolically, reshaping narratives and perceptions.
